Rockford Spine Center physicians Michael Roh, M.D., Christopher Sliva, M.D., and Fred Sweet, M.D. were recently recognized by Vitals with the Compassionate Doctor Recognition for 2019. This is the ninth consecutive year the physicians have received this award.

Vitals is a health care platform that helps consumers research and find medical care by translating data into actionable information and offering interactive tools to help patients make health care decisions. With nearly 9 million ratings and reviews, Vitals has the largest collection of crowd-sourced data on doctors than any other online site.

Ratings for this prestigious award are determined based on the number of reviews a doctor receives from patients for the calendar year and minimum rating values. The algorithm considers quality metrics that the provider must meet. The Compassionate Doctor certification is granted to physicians who treat their patients with the utmost kindness. The honor is granted based on a physician's overall and bedside manner scores.

Last year, Drs. Roh, Sliva and Sweet also were recognized with the Compassionate Doctor 5 Year Honoree Award, which recognizes doctors with the highest scores in bedside manner for five consecutive years. This honor is granted to a few distinct doctors in the United States based on experiences shared by patients. The Rockford Spine Center physicians add this honor to a growing list of Vitals awards, including Patients’ Choice, Top 10 Doctor and On-Time Doctor.
